Instagram is one of my favorite iPhone apps. It allows you to take pictures with your phone and turn them into photographic masterpieces! But what if you want to share all of your previous masterpieces with your circles on Google+?
Thanks to Instaport, you can now import all of your Instagram photos to Google+ in a few simple steps!
Step 1 | Head on over to Instaport.me and click on “Sign in with Instagram“. You’ll then have to enter your Instagram credentials, then choose to “Authorize app“. Once you’ve done that, you will be redirected to Instaport.

Step 2 | Select the “Download .zip file” option. You could use one of the other options as well, but this isn’t a tutorial on the other options now is it?
Then click on the “Advanced options” which will drop down a menu with some other options on it. I gotta say, I’m not too fond of the fact that you can import other people’s photos that you’ve liked. Just a little bit creepy.

You could choose the “Facebook” option which would allow you to upload your Instagram photos to Facebook. Then you could follow this tutorial on how to import your Facebook photos to Google+. It’s really up to you. Choose wisely!
Step 3 | Click “Start Export“. Depending on how many photos you have, it may take a couple minutes. I only had 140 photos, and it finished in about a minute.

Step 4 | Click on “download your photos“. The .zip folder will begin downloading to your designated downloads folder. Once it’s finished, open the folder and save the photos somewhere on your computer. I created a new folder on my desktop called “Instagram”, just to make it easy to find.

Step 5 | Go to your Google+ photos and hit the “Upload new photos” button in the top right of the screen. Go ahead and name your album (I named mine Instagram 09/2011 just so I know when I uploaded it). Then you can upload your photos from wherever you’ve saved them on your computer.

Once they’ve uploaded, just hit the “Create album” button, and you’re finished! You will have the option to share the album you’ve created with your circles, as seen below. (You’ll notice that I’m using the SGPlus extention to share simultaneously with Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.)

Voila! You did it! You’ve successfully imported your photos from Instagram to Google+! Congratulations, you’re officially awesome!

I wish Google would hurry up and give devs access so all of our mobile apps will do it automatically for us.
I know Google+ is still new but it’d be nice to not have to manually upload my photos.
Do you know if there are any tools like this for Anroid?
It’s actually possible to have your Android photos AUTOMATICALLY upload to your Google+. You want me to run you through it?
Are we talking uploads for 3rd party apps? I use a program called Lightbox (very instragram like but for Android) and I haven’t been able to get those to automatically upload to G+. Is there a way to do that? If there is, I’d love to know what it is.
And to clarify, I do have automatic upload turned on for pictures/videos I take w/ the normal camera app.
