How To Add a Customizable Google+ Widget To Your Website or Blog

Yesterday at Google+ Tutorials I showed you how to add a Google+ widget to your website or blog sidebar.

After I put out that post I had a comment from a guy called Chris Kanger who had also created a widget for Google+ plus that could be used on your website or blog. What was different about Chris’s offering was the fact that it was customizable! You can change the color of pretty much every element of the widget which I think is pretty impressive!

So, therefore I wanted to add an additional tutorial to show you how Chris’ widget works and how you can easily add it to your website or blog.

In my video I added it to my WordPress blog. I build pretty much all of my websites on WordPress as I think that it is literally the best CMS, plus most of my web properties are blogs, and WordPress is the industry standard for blogging! However, the basis of what I am doing will work on other platforms also!

So, if you want to add a sweet customizable Google+ widget to your blog or website then check out my video tutorial below which runs through the whole process:

As you will see in the video the things you are going to need to get setup with your widget are as follows:

  1. The Widgets Plus website – this can be found at www.widgetsplus.com
  2. Your Google+ id – this can be found in your Google+ profile URL
  3. Access to your blog or website’s code

I hope that this tutorial has been helpful, and I look forward to seeing some of you guys rocking a cool new customized Google+ widget in your blog’s sidebar.

If you are using one of the widgets that we have shown you then please do show it off by linking us to your blog or website in the comments below!
