A recent post on Mashable states that Google+ has now hit over 62 million users, and is growing at a rate of 625,000 per day! That is incredible!

There are many factors that could be playing into this. Google has been making some pretty aggressive pushes for the social network. Aside from their innovations in a social platform, they’ve also innovated the way they market the social platform! Here’s a great example:
This has been showing on television, Hulu, and on various sites across the net. It hasn’t become “viral” in any sense, but it is everywhere you turn.
All marketing efforts aside, it could just be that people are realizing more and more that Google+ is a superior social networking platform, and there are a plethora of attractive features that it offers. On top of that, Google has been consistantly releasing new features every couple of weeks to keep things fresh, and the platform evloving.
Although there are skeptics such as Experian Hitwise who pretend to have real insight into Google’s numbers (which they don’t) and try to downplay the growth of the social network. The problem with such critiques is that they are missing vast amounts of data– such as mobile users for example. If a so-called expert tries to downplay the growth of Google+, check their back pocket for a paycheck signed by Facebook.
With a growth rate of 625,000 users per day, experts are estimating that Google+ will reach 100 million users by Feb. 25, 2012! For us here at GPlusTuts, that means we’ve got some work to do– we’re definitely excited about that!
With all these new users signing up daily, many of them will be perplexed at the new social experience that awaits them. I love G+ as well and we follow each other on G+. For the 60m+ users of G+, I worry about their activities – how active are they comparing with, say, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
